A sixteen-week business hub supported by RBC Future Launch and dedicated to helping newcomer women discover and develop their entrepreneurial ideas into reality. During the first eight weeks, participants will participate in class sessions to increase their understanding of basic business concepts as well as learn from industry experts on key business topics such as taxation, marketing, building a network and business plan writing. Following the in-class sessions, women will be matched with local business mentors to help them broaden their understanding of the market as they hone their business plan. The hub experience will conclude with an opportunity for all participants to present their business plans in front of a panel of judges who will determine the top candidates. The top three candidates will be rewarded with business start-up funding.
Eligibility: Women who have a business idea. Program is open to Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents and Protected Persons.
Program Start Date: March 2, 2020. Apply by February 28, 2020.
Phase One: Eight weeks of in class training to equip participants with the tools to successfully build and launch a new business. In class workshops will cover all the business basics such as taxation, marketing, building a professional network, business plan writing and more.
Phase Two: Eight weeks of one-on-one business mentorship with local business leaders to help expand your local business knowledge, business etiquette and business plan development. During the second phase, there will be one workshop per week for all participants.
Phase Three: The hub experience will conclude with an opportunity for all participants to present their business plans in front of a panel of judges who will determine the top candidates. The top three candidates will be rewarded with business start-up funding.
