Waverly Inn Residence
When people have secure housing and strong support systems, they’re able to thrive and break cycles of homelessness. Located at the historic Waverly Inn, the YWCA Halifax Waverly Inn Residence offers 32 units of deeply affordable housing to women and gender diverse people to help them build stability and move forward.
Each resident’s length of stay is based on their individual needs as our dedicated staff assist them in taking steps towards independent housing.

Eligibility
Waverly Inn Residence welcomes people who are:
- Women
- Gender diverse
- Over the age of 18
Participant Registration
Residents are invited to the Waverly Inn Residence program through the Halifax Regional Municipality “By-Name-List”. This list, coordinated by the Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia, helps connect people who are unhoused to stable housing options when available.
