2SLGBTQIA+ Housing Support Program
2SLGBTQIA+ people in Canada are twice as likely to be unhoused or face housing insecurity than non-2SLGBTQIA+ Canadians (Stats Can 2022). YWCA Halifax and Youth Project are bringing our organizations together to offer housing support services to help queer and trans people find safe, affordable, and affirming homes in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
All aspects of the program are voluntary free, and you don’t have to be “out” to access support.
Eligibility
- Community members who are 2SLGBTQIA+ (Two Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/ questioning, intersex, asexual, or other sexual or gender minority)
- Between 16 to 30 years old
- Actively unhoused, precariously housed or experiencing other forms of housing insecurity
- Lives in Halifax Regional Municipality

All services can be accessed by self-referral and are delivered by a 2SLGBTQIA+ community member.

In-Person Drop-In Support
The Youth Project Housing Support Program will at the Alderney Public Library (60 Alderney Road, Dartmouth) to meet with 2SLGBTQIA+ folks ages 16 to 30 who need support finding housing or navigating housing insecurity.
